Referring to Mr. Shelley's letter on the subject of the assay and weight of the dollar coined in Hong Kong, I beg to submit a copy of Treasury regulations sanctioning the lower weight adopted by the Hong Kong Authorities, in obedience to the directions of the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury.
I have also taken the opportunity to add regulations for the subsidiary coin, viz., the Dollar, namely – Five, Ten, and Twenty Cents, dies for which were lately supplied to Hong Kong from this Department, according to instructions contained in Genge & Hamilton's Eng.
